The laser removes the tattoo ink with the energy of light. Tattoo ink is removed by using a specific wavelength of light, which passes into the skin but is absorbed by the ink. The rapid absorption of light energy causes the tattoo ink to break into tiny particles, which can then be removed by the body’s natural filtering systems. 

 

All tattoos are layers of ink, stacked on top of each other, creating a thick concentration of pigment particles. The thick concentration and multiples layers are what require tattoo removal to take place over several visits. This process mimics the natural fading that the passing of time would naturally create. I just had a lovely experience with the amazing ladies at the Complete Laser Clinic of Asheville inside the Asheville Mall. It just so happens that I had been looking to remove a hideous tattoo of mine for a very long time and had been comparing reputable local businesses around Asheville when I stumbled upon this location while on a lunch break. A nurse practitioner was able to whisk me back into a treatment room for a quick consultation and she measured me for my tattoo removal and quoted me a VERY reasonable price. She was kind and soft spoken. They scheduled me for the very same day and worked around my busy schedule. Now to the actual appointment: I arrived on time and was brought back to my treatment room immediately. My nurse gave me my lidocaine to numb my hand and was very gentle. She then gave me green protective eyewear and began the laser removal. My tattoo is very small and she finished quickly. Y’all, I thought this tattoo removal thing was absolutely the COOLEST thing to ever happen. I was totally fascinated by the process. It was barely painful and watching her zap away my ugly tattoo was totally amazing. She chatted with me the entire way through and made me feel very comfortable and relaxed. These ladies are extremely professional. I am very serious about returning not only for my follow-up tattoo removal treatments but also for their weight loss programs. I don’t have enough good things to say about this clinic. Excellence!

My experience was great. The staff was knowledgeable and friendly. I was a big baby during the tattoo removal, so they numbed me with some more lidocaine. They were very receptive to my needs. I will definitely be back. Every aspect was as enjoyable as possible.
